Event Details
What do Black mothers need to be well and how are their stories being told? Lede New Orleans is exploring these questions to learn how to better elevate the stories and lived experiences of Black New Orleanians in storytelling.
Join us for community conversation about the joys and challenges of Black motherhood, in addition to narratives and representation in news and media, followed by a free portrait session. Your portrait could be featured as part of our Spring 2023 Community Reporting Fellowship exhibit centering Black maternal health in July!
This event is free, and children are welcome. Please only reserve a ticket for yourself. If you are bringing children, please respond “yes” to the question “will you be bringing your child(ren)?” Though this event will center Black voices, we welcome mothers who are raising biracial and multiracial families, in addition to women of color!
